Save Giraffes Now Directors on Fact-Finding Mission

Giraffes in Central Kajiado face serious challenges that include the emergence of fences, habitat loss, and poaching.

We are pleased to have hosted the Save Giraffes Now team led by Kayla Walisch (Director of Operations), Fiona Sandeman (Director of East Africa Operations), and Aggrey Chemwa (Head of Research). They interacted with the leadership of Noosikitok and Lorbetera Conservancies for a deeper understanding of the challenges and possible solutions.

Central Kajiado lost 20 giraffes to the fence menace in 2023 while an estimated 30 giraffes are marooned within various fenced areas where they face difficulties in accessing water and pasture.
